A huge well done to 1YR for their wonderful class assembly all about Fairytales. Dressed in fantastic fairytale costumes, the children confidently shared what they have been learning - from traditional story openers such as “Once upon a time” and “A long time ago”, to identifying good and bad characters using descriptive adjectives. They even encouraged audience participation with familiar phrases like “Run, run as fast as you can…” and “Little pig, little pig, let me in!”
The children also demonstrated how they have been working on building longer, more interesting sentences, including some brilliant similes such as “Tinkerbell is as light as a feather.” They rounded off their performance by reciting a class fairytale poem, which they delivered beautifully.
Well done, 1YR - you all presented brilliantly and it was a joy to see how much you have learned. The children are now looking forward to Fairytale Dress-Up Day next week - we can’t wait to see all their costumes!
