It was wonderful to welcome children from Micklefield Nursery and past pupils from RGS (all the way up to Fifth Form) for a surprise retirement party for Mrs Hendon. The event was truly special, filled with joy, laughter and heartfelt memories.
The children shared some of their fond memories with Mrs Hendon – from playdoh creations and dress-up days to her much-loved cooking sessions. It was clear to hear and see the lasting impact Mrs Hendon has made over the past 27 years.
To celebrate her remarkable contribution, we would like to share this poem with you:
Mrs Hendon
For twenty-seven years - oh, what a run!
You've filled our days with laughter and fun.
From tiny tots to big kids too,
We've learned so much because of you!
Fridays meant cooking - yum what a treat!
Little chefs stirring, making things sweet.
Playdoh squishing, costumes sewn tight,
You made everyday feel sunny and bright.
Nativity stars in outfits you made,
with stitches of magic that never fade.
You've taught with kindness, with patience and cheer,
And sprinkled joy year after year!
Now it's time for a happy hooray,
As you head off to rest and play,
Thank you, Mrs. Hendon, for all that you do
Micklefield School will always love you!
