This week, Reception have been busy clearing the Early Years planter in the Nature Garden and learning all about soil and planting. With Mrs Easton’s help, they carefully removed weeds and discussed how compost - made from leaves, peelings and food scraps - helps vegetables grow.
Reception explored the soil, using magnifying glasses and trays, discovering bulbs, stones, woodlice and worms. They then planted seedlings using dibblers, making sure not to bury the shoots.
The sunny weather made it even more enjoyable. They are excited to watch their vegetables grow and enjoy the fruits of their labour in the weeks ahead!
