Year 6 Residential to France

Last week, Year 6 enjoyed a lovely sunny week in France for their residential. They travelled to France by ferry and stayed at the fabulous Chateau du Broutel in Berck.

They had a fully packed week and enjoyed taking part in a range of fun activities including: a trip to a Choclaterie where they learnt how chocolate is made, beach team games, learnt to shop in French at the Auchan hypermarché, they visited a boulangerie where the proprietor Bruno taught the children how to make croissants and authentic French bread, had an adrenaline fueled trip to Bagatelle Theme Park, a trip to Le Touquet where they visited the market and practised their French skills buying a variety of local gifts and souvenirs and they also visited a fascinating snail farm. In the evenings they enjoyed volleyball and petanque, took part in the Chateaux Olympics and enjoyed some fun around the campfire. However, the highlight was the Year 6 disco which was led by the enthusiastic staff from the chateau and our own 'The Greatest Show' choreographer, Mrs Pullen!

The weather was a little mixed during the week but it did not spoil the fun.  The children all had a great time and represented Micklefield superbly.  We hope they will treasure these memories forever.
