Reception set off on their morning adventure, excitedly singing and playing eye-spy on the minibus journey to Box Hill. Upon arrival, they all commented on the seasonal changes and how green the trees were before using the outside seating area for drinks and flapjacks, while listening to the story 'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson. They all loved the story and enjoyed finishing the rhymes and chorus, followed by animated discussions about bugs!
Their exploration continued with a nature trail, where they hunted for insects using magnifying glasses and created bug collages with natural treasures they had collected. The log pile area proved a favourite, offering fun opportunities to climb, build dens and balance on giant see-saws.
Before heading back to school, the children took in the stunning viewpoint, capturing a wonderful class photo. The return journey added to the excitement, with road diversions and car spotting games keeping everyone entertained, before arriving just in time for a well-earned lunch.
A huge well done to all our Reception children for their excellent behavior and enthusiasm throughout the trip!
