At Micklefield Nursery, we are proud to nurture budding eco-citizens, passionate about protecting our planet and the endangered species that call it home. This term, we have been thrilled to take part in the Voices of the Wild project and have run an impressive 2.5 miles (45 laps of the playground) in support of the WWF Mini Marathon to raise awareness for endangered animals.
The proceeds raised will go towards adopting a class Turtle, Orangutan and Sumatran Tiger. The children voted for their favourite endangered species that they wanted to protect. They collated votes and chose the animals which had the highest number. All the children have thoroughly enjoyed writing their own special placards to campaign and raise awareness of the chosen animals.
Looking ahead, Nursery eagerly anticipate their upcoming 'Wear It Wild' day, a visit to a local vet and an exciting visit from a local beekeeper.
