Year 5 Netball Tournament
Our Year 5 netball teams travelled to Aberdour for an exciting tournament and represented the school brilliantly throughout the day.
All three teams made a strong start, demonstrating excellent passing, movement and teamwork. A particular highlight saw our B and C Teams face each other, with both sides showing wonderful sportsmanship and encouraging one another throughout.
Despite the very cold conditions, the girls remained positive and determined, giving their best in every game. The A Team finished 3rd in their pool, while the B Team also secured 3rd place and bronze medals. The C Team produced a series of determined performances to finish 4th out of six teams in their group.
Well done to all the girls for their commitment, resilience and teamwork. They were fantastic ambassadors for Micklefield and should be very proud of their efforts.
Year 4 Hockey vs Caterham
Our Year 4 hockey teams travelled to Caterham for an enjoyable afternoon of fixtures. Although the results did not go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from all three matches.
The A Team faced strong opposition in a 3-0 defeat, showing excellent resilience, some impressive defending and good teamwork throughout. The B Team also worked hard in their 2-0 defeat, making strong tackles and growing in confidence as the match progressed.
The C Team were involved in an exciting and competitive game, eventually losing 4-2. The team should be particularly proud of scoring two excellent goals and continuing to attack positively right up to the final whistle.
Well done to all our Year 4 players for the determination, teamwork and sportsmanship they showed throughout the afternoon. There is lots to build on ahead of their next fixtures.
Year 6 Netball vs Essendene Lodge
On Wednesday, our U11A netball team welcomed Essendene Lodge School to Micklefield.
Facing a rather different opposition, with six boys among Essendene's eight Year 6 pupils, it proved to be an interesting experience for our girls. Micklefield produced a strong team performance and proved too strong on the day, securing an impressive 14-1 victory.
Well done to the whole team on a confident performance!

The A Team produced a thrilling performance. Despite being on top for long periods, Micklefield found themselves 1-0 behind as the game entered its closing stages. With the very last kick of the game, the boys produced a superb team move that travelled the length of the pitch before finding the back of the net to secure a well-deserved 1-1 draw.
The B Team were in excellent form, recording a fantastic 3-0 victory, while the C Team battled hard throughout a closely fought game before narrowly losing 1-0.

Congratulations to Matilda, who represented Micklefield at an NSEA competition at Sand's Farm last weekend.
Competing against 50 riders in the 50cm class, Matilda rode brilliantly to finish an outstanding 6th place. With an optimum time of 49 seconds, Matilda completed her round in 48.21 seconds, just 0.79 seconds away from the target, demonstrating just how close the top placings were.
