Year 5 Visit Bough Beech Reservoir

On Monday, Year 5 enjoyed an informative visit to Bough Beech Reservoir, where they learnt about the journey of water from reservoir to tap. Despite a day of drizzle, the pupils discovered that the reservoir level was surprisingly low following the long, dry summer, highlighting the importance of rainfall in maintaining water supplies.

The children had the opportunity to view the reservoir, walk beneath the dam, and see the various stages of the water treatment process. They impressed the group leaders with their curiosity, thoughtful questions and excellent behaviour throughout the day.

The visit provided a fascinating insight into how clean water reaches our homes and helped pupils develop a greater understanding of the importance of conserving this precious resource.
