Boys Football Season Gets Underway

The boys' football season got off to an exciting start this week, with nine matches involving all of our Upper School boys.

On Tuesday, the U10/11A team were unfortunate to suffer a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat after extra time in the first round of the Surrey Cup against RGS Guildford. Despite the result, the boys performed exceptionally well against a school with five times as many boys as Micklefield and can be very proud of their efforts.

Wednesday and Thursday then saw a full block of fixtures against Ewell Castle. Across eight matches, Micklefield recorded an impressive six victories and just two defeats. These fixtures also marked the first matches for our Year 3 boys, who represented the school with great enthusiasm and determination.

One of the highlights of the week was the outstanding performance of the U8A team, who scored at least ten goals in a comprehensive victory.

Congratulations to all the boys who took part this week. It has been a fantastic start to the season, and we look forward to seeing their continued progress and success in the weeks ahead.

Girls Sport

There were no fixtures for our Upper School girls this week, but they have an exciting programme of sport ahead.

Next week, the girls will be taking part in the Independent Schools Cup Netball Tournament, as well as netball fixtures against Ewell Castle and hockey matches against RSM. We look forward to hearing about their achievements in the weeks ahead.
