On Monday, Mr Ardé delivered an inspiring whole-school assembly centred around the theme of Change and encouraged pupils to reflect on the positive changes they could make this week, this term, or even throughout the year.
At Micklefield, we nurture a growth mindset and encourage children to embrace challenges and learn from their mistakes. We remind our pupils that making mistakes is an important part of learning. You may not be there yet, but with perseverance, effort and determination, you can continue to improve and grow.
Mr Ardé challenged the children to think about the changes they could make in their own lives, whether that means being kinder to themselves and others, becoming more organised with their schoolwork, spending more time being active, reducing screen time, or making an effort to include someone who may be feeling left out.
To help pupils take meaningful action, he shared three simple steps:
The children were reminded that even a small step in the right direction can lead to a big change over time.
We look forward to seeing where these positive changes take each and the children across the School and Nursery during the months ahead.
During Monday's assembly, we were also delighted to announce our School Council representatives and Wellbeing Champions for the term. These pupil leaders play an important role in school life, and we look forward to sharing updates on their projects and initiatives throughout the term.
