Year 5 and 6 Perform 'The Greatest Show' at Leatherhead Theatre

The Leatherhead Theatre was transformed into a whirlwind of colour, laughter and circus magic as Year 5 and 6 pupils took to the stage for their production of The Greatest Show, a lively and imaginative play by Mike Horth and Jan Porter.

Year 6 pupils led the way with confident and charismatic performances in the main roles, while Year 5 formed a vibrant and enthusiastic chorus, bringing energy and atmosphere to every scene. The audience was treated to a dazzling array of circus acts - from daring scooter and trike stunts to feats of strength by the strong men, dramatic gladiator duels and even a hilarious performance by a troupe of fleas!

The story unfolded with humour and heart, as the circus performers prepared for their big moment - all while fending off the mischievous Obadiah and his gang of golden-gloved cogs, who were determined to sabotage the show. Thankfully, their plans were foiled just in time, allowing the performance to go on in spectacular style.

The production was a true celebration of creativity, teamwork and talent. From the imaginative costumes and clever staging to the pupils’ expressive acting and joyful singing, every element came together to create a truly memorable evening. The audience was full of smiles, laughter and pride as the final curtain fell.

Mrs Swan would like to say a huge "well done" to all the children and staff involved — The Greatest Show certainly lived up to its name!
