Parents were treated to an orchestra filled with violinists today as our Year 2s demonstrated what they have learned during their violin lessons, held in class time this term. It is amazing what they have achieved in half an hour a week!

Thank you to Mrs Denny for inviting the two peripatetic teachers, Mrs Eborn and Mrs Stapel in to teach our children violin this term. Music is an important part of the curriculum at Micklefield and teaches the children so much more than how to read music.

Apart from expanding the brain’s capacity it also fosters teamwork, builds self-esteem and confidence, stimulates the imagination, develops co-ordination and an appreciation of music!

We hope that many of our pupils will continue to learn the instrument as they have come on so well in such a short time.
