Celebrating the Coronation

We had a brilliant day celebrating the King’s Coronation.
The School was a sea of red, white and blue and there was the odd member of the Royal family dotted around too!
The day started with an assembly for all children from Nursery right up to Year 6. Everyone sang the National Anthem and enjoyed a presentation on His Majesty from the School Council. The day was filled with Coronation themed activities, from pieces of art to creating items for the Micklefield Time Capsule. We were incredibly lucky with the weather at lunchtime as the forecast of rain didn’t appear. This allowed everyone to fully enjoy a Coronation Picnic on the field. Thank you to Accent Catering for a delicious picnic including quiche and coronation chicken sandwiches and themed cakes.
All the children were presented with a keep-sake coin at the end of the day which was a joint gift from the School and Friends of Micklefield.
