We provide our students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. Our Computing lessons are an integral part of this commitment, equipping students with essential skills and knowledge that will serve them well in the 21st century.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet the needs of our children and is constantly updated to stay ahead of the rapidly evolving world of technology. We cover a wide range of topics, including programming, web development, data science, and cybersecurity.

The curriculum is delivered by a specialist teacher who is passionate about technology and committed to helping students excel. The aim of each lesson is to ensure that our children are inspired by the content, which is both relevant and engaging.

Our School is equipped with a modern computing suite, with access to one to one computers and iPads. Both have the latest software and hardware, providing children with a hands-on learning experience. Whether it’s coding, experimenting with robotics, or working on creative digital projects, our facilities support it all.

We recognise that every child has their own unique strengths and interests. We work closely with them to tailor the curriculum to their abilities and aspirations, whether they are budding programmers, future IT managers, or digital artists.

Our Computing and IT programme aims to achieve several key learning outcomes:

  • Digital Literacy: Students gain a solid foundation in digital literacy, ensuring they can confidently navigate the digital world and use technology effectively.
  • Problem Solving: Through coding and programming exercises, students develop strong problem-solving skills, a crucial skill in any field.

  • Creativity: We encourage creative thinking through projects that involve digital art, game design, and multimedia production.

  • Cybersecurity Awareness: In an era where data breaches are prevalent, our students learn about cybersecurity best practices to protect themselves and others online.

  • Collaboration: Teamwork is essential in the IT industry. Our students engage in group projects, fostering collaboration and communication skills.

Our commitment to computing and IT education extends beyond the classroom. We offer a variety of extracurricular clubs including coding and robotics to explore their interests further.

In a world increasingly reliant on technology, a solid foundation in computing and IT is an invaluable asset. At Micklefield, we ensure our students are well-prepared to embrace the future with confidence, creativity, and competence.
