Our Preps have been learning about ‘People Who Help Us’ and this week’s focus has been on people who work in the medical profession. The children were lucky enough to receive a visit from a parent at Micklefield School who is a paramedic and some of his colleagues who much to the delight of the Preps arrived in an Ambulance!

During the visit the children learnt about the importance of our skeleton and why we need to wear protective gear when scooting and cycling. They also learnt through amazing demonstrations how the lungs, heart and digestive system works. It was truly fascinating and the Preps were lost for words. The talk finished with role play scenarios during which the Preps learnt what to say and do during an emergency situation. To end the visit the children were lucky enough to explore the ambulance.

What a fabulous insight into the jobs paramedics do.
