Our Year 6 pupils got to experience what life was like as a child in World War II during an Evacuee Day. The children dressed up in appropriate clothing of the times and waved goodbye to their parents. During the day they did activities like making a paper Spitfire, practising air raid drills, making ration books and identity cards and writing postcards home to their parents. We even had some fantastic rationing style packed lunches! It was a day to remember which consolidated and brought their learning to life beautifully.
