We have received a fantastic set of results for our children who took part in this year’s Junior Maths Challenge run by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust.
The competition is primarily aimed at Year 7 and 8 pupils but for the last few years we have entered a team of children from year 5 and 6. This year we had eight certificates for participation, seven children were awarded a Bronze certificate, two were awarded a Silver certificate and three were awarded a Gold certificate.
This year over 272,000 children took part in the competition. To receive a bronze, silver or gold certificate the children had to be in the top 50% of competitors. To receive gold they had to be in the top 8%. Our children were taking part with children who could be two or three years older than them and our results this year are our best ever.
A really fabulous achievement, it is lovely to see the enthusiasm that our children have towards maths.  Well done to everyone who took part, we are very proud of you all!
