Governing Body

Micklefield School (Reigate) Limited is a registered charity overseen by our Board of Governors made up of dedicated individuals who oversee the overall performance, strategic direction, and the safeguarding and wellbeing of our children.

Governors are chosen for their specialist skills and each Governor has strong connections to the School and the local area. All Governors take an active interest in the life of the School and often visit to take part in the school day and the many extra-curricular activities.

Joosje is a solicitor specialising in EU and UK competition and regulatory law. She provides legal advice on a part-time consultancy basis while also managing and developing her family's agricultural estate. Her three children had a wonderful education at Micklefield, which inspired her to contribute to its future success. Joosje became a Governor in December 2016 and assumed the role of Chair in December 2017.

Duncan is an actuary and sits on our Finance & General Purposes Committee.  He leads the insurance technology business of a prominent advisory, broking, and solutions company.  He has been a partner in, and a director of, a number of consulting and software firms.  A Reigate resident since 1990, Duncan is a former Micklefield parent and joined the Board in October 2018.

Tizzy is a passionate Geography teacher currently teaching at an independent school in Reigate. With over 20 years of experience in both state and independent schools, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the Education and Staffing Committee. Tizzy joined the Board in November 2021 and is also a former Micklefield parent.

Emma is a chartered accountant specialising in the not-for-profit and education sectors. She works as an audit manager for a leading London accountancy firm. Emma is a proud alumna of Micklefield, joining the Board in June 2019 and actively contributing to the Finance & General Purposes Committee.

Fiona is a chartered accountant and brings her expertise to the Finance & General Purposes Committee. She was previously Chair of Governors at a maintained primary school and deputy treasurer of St Mary’s Church, Reigate. Fiona joined the Board in October 2008 and is a former Micklefield parent.

Emma is a media and marketing executive with over 25 years’ experience working in some of the top media agencies in the UK. She currently runs her own consultancy, specialising in marketing effectiveness strategies and transformation. She is a recent past parent of Micklefield, a local resident and is passionate about Micklefield’s future success. Emma was appointed in June 2022.

Sarah is Headmistress at a prep school in Guildford and sits on the Education & Staffing Committee. She has 12 years of headship experience both in state and independent schools and is passionate about education and ensuring that every child is able to meet, or exceed, their potential. Sarah was appointed in November 2019 and is also the Safeguarding Governor.

Robert is a partner in a local commercial property firm and sits on the Estates Committee. He lives locally and is a past parent and was appointed in September 2022.

James is a senior executive at an internal telecommunications company and sits on our Finance & General Purposes Committee. He specialises in delivering future technologies and innovation to the market. James is a past parent of Micklefield and is committed to the future prosperity of our school. He was appointed in September 2019.

Rebecca qualified as an engineer and subsequently as a maths teacher and sits on the Education & Staffing Committee. She worked in engineering procurement in the energy and medical equipment sectors before retraining as a teacher. She has 14 years’ experience in teaching maths up to A-Level in a local state secondary school. Rebecca is a local resident, a past parent of Micklefield and was appointed in November 2019.
