RECEPTION
 
Summer 1:
 
We are continuing to form good relationships, learning to take into account the ideas of others and considering the consequences of words and actions for self and others
We are continuing to be interested, motivated and excited to learn.
We are learning to maintain attention and concentrate, and to understand what is right, wrong and why.
 
We are:
Learning about letters, sounds and names.
Learning to write down the correct letter sound so that we can make 'good guesses' at spelling words.

Beginning to form sentences independently, sometimes using punctuation.

Sharing and reading a range of books.

Blending and segmenting words.
Learning about addition and we are starting to learn about subtraction.
Learning about 2D shape, pattern and symmetry.
Learning about capacity and measure.
 
 Our general topic is 'Growing'

Our RE topic is 'What makes our world wonderful?'

In gym we are consolidating and developing our skills using apparatus

In games we are learning about working in teams.

We are communicating simple planning for investigations linked to 'growing' and making simple records of evaluations.

 
 
Summer 2:
 
We are continuing to form good relationships, learning to take into account the ideas of others and considering the consequences of words and actions for self and others.
We are continuing to be interested, motivated and excited to learn.
We are learning to maintain attention and concentrate, sustaining involvement and persevering particularly when trying to solve a problem or reach a satisfactory conclusion.
We can display a strong sense of self-identity and we are learning to express emotions fluently and appropriately.
 

We are continuing to:

Learn about letters, sounds and names and trying hard to write neatly.

Learn to write down the correct letter sound so that we can make 'good guesses' at spelling words.

Write for a variety of purposes.

Learn about punctuation, capital letters and full-stops.
 Share and read a range of books.
Learn about addition and subtraction.
Learn about money and time (o'clock times)
 
Our general topic is 'The Environment'.
Our RE topic is 'What makes a place special?'
In Gym we are using apparatus.
In Games we are preparing for Sports Day.
 
Music
Call and response action and counting songs. Musical journeys - songs, sounds and stories from other cultures. Junk Orchestra - exploring sounds using throw away objects. Developing musical independence - improvisation and games.
French
We are learning key words for face, parts of the body, toys, sweet flavours (fruit), forest animals and transport.
